How is Puppy Picking done? This is a huge thing to me. I personally do not allow picking until 7 weeks old after temperament testing has been completed. We are talking about a 10-15 year commitment. In the end the color of the dog does not matter but the temperament of that dog and how is fits in with your family will affect the next 10-15 years of your life. If there is a “buy it now” button then run. Every responsible breeder wants to know where their puppies are going. They want to know that the breed is suitable for your family and that the temperament of that individual puppy fits your family. Most responsible breeders will start this process with a Puppy Form to get to know you, what you are hoping to do with your puppy, and what traits are most important to you in a dog. Many breeders do things differently so I think it is important to ask questions when it comes to how the puppies are selected.
